Story Behind the Invention

Inventors Annias Scott Jr. and Arvian Scott have developed Sure-I-Tell Safe Meds an integrated smart medication dispensing system paired with a biometric smartwatch that automates medication schedules, confirms doses are taken, monitors vital signs, and alerts caregivers in real time.

Missed doses, double dosing, and the inability to confirm that medication has actually been taken are daily realities that lead to hospitalizations and, in the worst cases, life-threatening consequences. The Scott family saw these challenges firsthand and created Sure-I-Tell Safe Meds to address them head-on.

But how does it work? The system has two connected components. The first is a smart dispenser with a rotating tray holding up to 31 daily receptacles that automatically releases the correct medication up to four times a day. A front-mounted camera live-streams and records each dispensing, displaying the medication name on screen, while a speaker and display alert the user when a dose is due or a refill is needed. Caregivers can remotely adjust schedules, review footage, and confirm doses via a Wi-Fi control panel accessible from anywhere. The second component is a companion smartwatch that monitors heart rate, blood pressure, temperature, and blood sugar, alerts the user at dose time, and features a panic button that instantly notifies family or emergency services.
