Story Behind the Invention

Inventor Ronald L. Smith of Florissant, MO has created a sliding storage shelf that holds an appliance in an RV or tiny house and provides access to higher areas or items with the use of steps.

In August 2022, Ronald downsized and made the switch to a more compact lifestyle by moving into an RV. However, he quickly noticed that his new home was missing features such as a microwave and had scarce room for storing big appliances. Motivated by these challenges, Ronald was inspired to develop the RV Tiny House Appliance Drawer & Steps!

This clever new invention serves a dual purpose: it provides a secure and accessible storage solution for major appliances, while also offering an easier way to climb into the tall beds often found in RVs. His invention utilizes the often-overlooked space under beds, converting it into practical storage without sacrificing comfort or ease of use. The invention not only enhances the functionality of compact living spaces, but also significantly improves the quality of life for RV enthusiasts.
