Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Gayle Merrill of Surprise, AZ has designed an icicle memento that creates a sense of joy, love, and remembrance of loved ones and your own childhood holidays. The idea was born from her father-in-law, a firefighter, artist/wood carver, and great storyteller. He retired to Montana and lived in the woods in a log home. In the winter months when he was snowed in, he would make wood carvings, wooden toys, and tell stories to the grandchildren. Gayles niece was actually inspired to become an artist because of all the time she spent in his workshop. Gayle wanted to make something that would treasure his memory forever, so with her guidance, her niece drew the icicle just as he would have envisioned it. She knew others would also cherish the icicle each year while they remember family members and their own childhood with Santa.Taking a look at the design, you will see a fairly transparent icicle with frosty etchings and droplets of water sparkling in the sun. Each icicle also features an image of a carved reindeer that wraps partially around to the back. When displayed in a window or on a Christmas tree, you will be rewarded with a prism of glittering rainbows.Displaying your Icicle Memento will quickly become a tradition for you and your family for generations to come.
