Inventor Karin Carlyle Smith of Greenwood, IN has created cryogenic suits, pads, and wraps.

One restless night, Karin lay in bed overwhelmed by searing pain in her hips and back, intensified by the nagging discomfort of sciatica. The usual remedies like pain medications, lidocaine patches, and ice packs offered little to no relief. Frustration set in as she longed for something that could truly ease her pain. Then, like a lightning bolt, an idea struck her – a revolutionary concept that could provide the relief she and so many others needed.

Karin realized that despite the advances in pain management, there was a gap in the market. Traditional cryotherapy, which uses cold therapy to reduce inflammation and pain, was expensive and required an office visit. These barriers made it inaccessible for many people, especially those with mobility challenges or tight budgets. Inspired to bridge this gap, Karin developed Cryo Fix, a cryotherapy solution designed specifically to help individuals with chronic pain in the comfort of their own homes.

Unlike traditional ice packs that warm up too quickly or pain medications that could pose a risk of addiction, Cryo Fix delivers consistent, deep cryogenic therapy. Designed for daily wear under clothing or during activities, the invention is a practical alternative to expensive cryotherapy centers.
