Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Katelynn R. Carter of Stouffville, Ontario, Canada has designed an innovative 3-dimensional canvas frame that transforms traditional flat artwork into a striking, sculptural experience.
\nAs an artist herself, Katelynn always felt that flat canvases limited the impact of her work. She envisioned a way for the artwork itself to reach outliterallytoward the viewer. After searching for a product that could deliver that effect and finding nothing on the market, she set out to create it herself: the CanvexArt!
\nBut how does it work? The CanvexArt features a curved frame of flexible plastic beneath an archival-quality natural cotton duck canvas. The arch of the frame gently stretches the canvas outward, creating a striking convex, globe-like surface that adds genuine depth and dimension to any painting. The hollow back prevents caving, and the durable kiln-dried wood frame ensures lasting quality. Available in a range of sizes, from intimate 16 x 20 panels to expansive 48 x 60 statement pieces, the CanvexArt is compatible with acrylics, oils, and mixed media.
