While camping with his wife, Laskowitz saw some guys playing washers with a backboard. He knew the game was popular but wondered if he could enhance it further. He thought steel rings on a pipe and hook would be different, so he went out to purchase some from a home improvement store. Laskowitz rigged up a backboard and WING--ERZ came to life!
