Story Behind the Invention
The common flashlight can be found in almost every tool box, car trunk, or kitchen drawer. The high intensity beams in these flashlights can provide temporary lighting, supplemental lighting or emergency lighting as well. However, these beams only produce light for a small area. Illumination for broader areas usually comes from a lantern. This often forces the user to carry both a flashlight and a lantern to produce the desired lighting patterns. Unfortunately this adds to increased costs, increased weight and presents an inconvenience for the user. Inventor Matys has created an apparatus which provides the functionality of both a flashlight and a lantern into one unit.
