Story Behind the Invention
Anyone who has set a ladder on soft ground, gravel, or a slick surface knows the feeling you start climbing and the base shifts just enough to make your stomach drop. Jesse Lindland and David Buonopane knew that feeling well.As partners at B&L Enterprises, LLC, Jesse and Dave had spent enough time around ladders to recognize a problem that the industry had never truly solved. Rubber feet and standoffs help, but they don’t anchor anything the moment conditions change, so does your safety. Jesse and Dave set out to fix the actual problem: an unsecured base. The result is the Ladder Anchoring System a compact, patented device that physically locks the base of any ladder to the surface below. It comes in two configurations: a Spike version for soft ground and a Screw version for harder surfaces. Either way, the ladder doesn’t move.Jesse and Dave built and tested their own prototypes and filed a provisional patent before ever bringing the idea to a development partner. The Ladder Anchoring System is patented, proven, and ready for the right manufacturer or licensing partner to put it on every ladder that goes up.
