Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Beth L. Dennis of Alaska has developed Gold Guardian a flexible, adhesive slug deterrent device that keeps slugs out of planters and raised garden beds without toxic chemicals.
Gardeners know the frustration of losing plants to slugs overnight. Chemical pellets are toxic to children and pets, copper barriers fail in wet weather, and diatomaceous earth washes away in rain precisely when slugs are most active. Gold Guardian was created to fill that gap
.But how does it work? Gold Guardian is a flexible adhesive strip that adheres to the outside of any planter or raised garden bed. A stationary backing section bonds to the planter wall, while a hinged cap section extends outward at a 45-degree angle. Both surfaces are coated with a salt-based deterrent. When the cap is extended, it creates an impassable barrier slugs cannot cross and because it overhangs the salt coating, rain cannot wash it away. Gold Guardian stays effective in wet conditions, exactly when slugs are most active.Pleated panels let the device conform to round or rectangular planters, and corner pieces are included for raised beds. Available in roll form and cuttable to any length, Gold Guardian also comes in decorative designs dragonflies, bees, and frogs to complement your gardens appearance.
Easy to install in minutes with no special tools, no maintenance, and no harmful chemicals Gold Guardian is safe for children, pets, and beneficial wildlife.
