Inventor Russell Cable has developed a practical new security device designed to help homeowners protect one of the most common access points into the home: the garage door.

Garage door openers provide convenience, but they can also leave a home vulnerable when power and control systems remain active while the door is not in use. The 5 Star Lock was created to add an extra layer of protection by allowing the user to disconnect or isolate power and control access to the garage door opener when added security is desired.

The device, also described as a Safe Lock Isolation Switch, is designed to stop power to the garage door system to help prevent unauthorized entry.
