Inventors Daniel Thomas and Kevin Duhaime of Greensboro, NC have created a lifesaving poolside essential.

The concept originated following the tragic loss of a friend’s 19-month-old son in a swimming pool accident. This heartbreaking event compelled the inventors to take steps to prevent such tragedies in the future. In turn, they developed Poolside Protection!

But how does it work? The system is installed along the perimeter of your swimming pool. Equipped with a state-of-the-art thermal sensor, the infrared picks up movement to detect when a person or pet falls into the water. When this occurs, an outdoor remote unit instantly sounds a loud alarm to alert those nearby, while an indoor base unit also issues an alert. Additionally, a thermal motion activated camera sends notifications to your smartphone and can automatically contact emergency services if required.

The invention offers continuous monitoring of your pool, providing round-the-clock safety. It is powered by solar energy and a backup battery, ensuring operation even during power outages. Customizable settings let you adjust alarm notifications, inform individuals outside your home, and secure the safety of pool maintenance staff.
