Story Behind the Invention
Inventor James S. Neal of Atlanta, GA has created a vehicle compartment divider that separates a driver from the rear seat passengers to eliminate the spread of germs, bacteria, and viruses. As a rideshare driver during the COVID-19 pandemic, James realized there was a need to keep exposure to a minimum for all drivers and their riders. He kept hand sanitizer, wipes, and disinfectant spray in his vehicle and would roll his windows down between each rider. Still, with the pandemic spreading rapidly across the world, he knew more needed to be done. In turn, he was inspired to develop APE Automotive Protective Equipment! The invention is composed of a unit of personal protective fabric that is removably secured between the front seat and back seat. The divider features tie-on and Velcro straps, along with structural support which extends the length of the divider. Vent openings have been added so air can pass from the ventilation system through the entire vehicle. Centrally located is a clear window so drivers can have visual contact and passengers can see where they are headed. The invention will be a must-have in pandemics or even cold and flu season.Want to learn more?
