Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Barry C. Smith of Honeywood, ON has designed an interlocking planter system which allows the user to optimize their growing space by creating various shapes and sizes.Plants and flowers are a welcomed addition to any environment. As with most living things, these plants and flowers require attentive care for them to achieve their full potential. Plants at ground level or even in flower boxes are often inaccessible especially for those who are elderly, disabled or confined to a wheelchair. The only way such individuals can enjoy gardening is that of individual plants in individual pots placed on an ordinary table. Such restrictions greatly limit the enjoyment of gardening. Inventor Smith has created a means by which everyone, especially those who are disabled, elderly, or confined to a wheelchair, can enjoy gardening without the previously mentioned restrictions or limitations. This clever new invention can be used for all vegetation, and is perfect for decks, patios and planting beds. The planter is elevated, and each piece interlocks via an H- shape sliding joint. The use of the Modular Interlocking Planter allows for the easy tending of various flowers, vegetables, and plants.
