Story Behind the Invention
Inventor Michael A. Chaffin of Wethersfield, CT has created a retractable screen system for getting the most out of your garage! When using the garage to do small jobs, hobbies, or as a place to sit and enjoy the weather, the garage door is typically left open to receive fresh air and sunlight. In doing so, the garage is exposed to anyone and everything outside, including annoying insects such as flies, mosquitoes, and gnats. However, with the garage door closed, it limits what you are able to do and a hot garage can become stifling and breed mold and mildew. Michael just knew there had to be a better way. In turn, he was inspired to develop the All Purpose Garage Screen! The invention is a retractable dual screen system for the exterior side of a garage door. An upper housing contains two long rollers, similar to pull down blinds. The first roller contains vinyl insect screening. The second, a roll of insulating polyolefin material. Now you can simply pull down the insect screen to enjoy leisure activities from your garage while staying cool and keeping bugs and mosquitos out! The second screen adds an extra layer of insulation to keep wind and cold air out, while also protecting your garage door from inclement weather.
